ok, so someone finaly asked a question that i have an answer to. it may be wierd or what ever, but i do have some pretty good stuff here. well, i think it’s pretty good. unfortunately this is going to be directed at my cousin ben.
ben, first, you should check out a book called “chaos, the making of a new science”. the other you should check out is any book on basic cabala.
so here is what i found in cabala that i think best fits your question. all letters in the hebrew alphabet have a numeric meaning. for instance, achad, means unity, has a value of 13. so does ahebah, which means love. so unity equals love. if you are in love with someone, then you are in unity with them. if they are happy so are you. if they suffer, so do you. better still, it works backwards too, according to some cabalist. 31 is the same as 13. so some how 31 is mystically the same as 13. AL, is the oldest known name of God, and has the value of 31. therefore, God equals loves equal unity.
ok, here is the bomb. la means ‘nothing”, and also equals 31. so that means that god equals nothing. or no thing. and unity is nothing. and so is love. nothing.

that’s actually pretty dope. so here’s the back ground of how this arose at this particular time, if any one is interested for any reason. i’m taking an introductory philosophy class as one of the last two that i need to finish my AA. And we just got to Descartes, who happens to be the ‘i think, therefore i am’. He reasons that to consider his existence he must necessarily exist. Other wise who would be doing the doubting, verifying, and perceiving his existence. Now i’m not entirely sold on this, i feel that there are other possibilities left unacknowledged. But then the question becomes, does this consideration of existence guarantee that some thing exists. How can no thing exist if some thing has determined that no thing exists. I seem to perceive some form of experience going on here, so there must be at the very least some thing, regardless of it’s nature, existing, correct. How could there be no thing what so ever given this. It seems a contradiction. But then, does a contradiction really prevent some thing from happening. Is mutual exclusivity a reality. Are there in fact events that can not coexist, or is every thing truly possible. As Jeremy pointed out, can every thing and no thing be the same thing. Are contradictions real, or merely some thing that our brains can not resolve.

have you read my “4th dimensional creatures” note? i talk about how we are 4th dimensional creatures trapped in 3 dimension objects. if we exist in all time, then we exist in no time. this would be the same for some thing and no thing. i think this is the contradiction you speak of. and i think this very contradiction is what keeps everything and nothing together and makes it possible for all things and no things to happen all at the same time.
if you can find it, read the chaos book. even if you don’t fully understand all the math, that is ok. just pretend that you do, and you should be able to get the big pic.
