Why are words of comfort equated to "sappy". I have known times when you personally needed a few words of comfort. Were they all "sappy"? Having read "The Lord is My Shephard" I thought that it gave a new twist to some very old ideas. It made me take a harder look at the 23rd Psalm and just exactly we are told God can and won't do for us. If all you got out of the book is that Owls aren't Kosher then I suggest that you reread it because you missed several good points.

You have a new son. There are many things you should be worried about.

Joke of the day; When God asked Abraham to sacrifice Issac, Issac was 12. The Lord asked him them because if Issac had been 13 it wouldn't have been a sacrifice.

ronda, i do consider what i write, and just who might read it. i hope that some sort of controversy will spring up and some one might actually read some of the things that i put up here. all the books here i would recomend to anyone over the age of 18. and i know i only may have, possibly 2 or 3 people who are not over the age of 18. did i offend you? and what should i be worried about?

The Hunger Games is SUCH a good book, and Catching Fire is a worthy sequel. I am really excited for the third and final book of the series which comes out on August 24th 2010!

Those sound pretty interesting. The last few books I've read are American Gods; kind of a road trip story involving a war between the gods of the old world and the new world. It mixes in a lot of mythological figures from all cultures and pits them against the things we worship today (media, cars, technology). I just finished reading The Stand; kind of older, but it still holds up. Plus half of it takes place between Denver and Vegas; always makes it fun when a post apocalyptic story takes place in the area you live in. And finally, I'm currently reading A Seashell on the Mountaintop; a biography of Nicholas Steno, father of geology. Really interesting to learn about the birth of a science and the beginnings of scientific thought just a few decades after Galileo. So, those are the last 3 books I've read at least.
